I am David (Hem Sagar) Rasaily a Christian but was born in an orthodox Hindu family in India. India is called a 'Land of Religions' birthplace of several major world religions. Hinduism commands the adherence of approximately 800 million people in India. Thus every 7th human being is a Hindu. I feel it is my privilege to be born in India and receive Salvation in Jesus Christ to bear the witness for Him.

Before sharing my testimony I have to tell you something about my ancestors, my grand-grand father was a Guru (Teacher) of Sadhus (Sages) who lived on the mountain hills. He had hair with knots that was uncut his whole life. Today the rocks still exist in Kurseong of West Bengal. He would burn a fire 24 hours a day as an altar which was never quenched until the day he died. Our association was with a group of Sadhus called ‘Aghori’ who didn't mind eating dead human flesh (burnt).

My grand father was Pundit (Priest) in the Indian Army with a rich Hindu knowledge. My dad and mom were orthodox Hindus. In my house everyday there use to be rituals, hymns singing, scriptures readings from books of Hinduism. I use to memorize Hindu scriptures and sing hymns and regularly participate in the rituals. We use to boast in our religion and hate other religions.

One day on the 29th of April in 1979 my mom got saved, before that she never heard the Gospel from any Christian minister. She used to hate Christians but Jesus loved her because she was a sinner. Jesus appeared to her in the night. Still, I was not satisfied with my mother’s decision. I use to quarrel with my parents and continued my life in Hinduism.

One day, I met a Christian minister. We had a great argument. He had sound Biblical knowledge. He tried to prove Jesus to me from the Hindu Scriptures. I use to read those Hindu scriptures but I never saw the truth. I continued reading Vedas, Puranas and other books to know more about Christ. I started searching the scriptures concerning and related to the Christ of the Bible. All scriptures were speaking to me in a new way. In my mind new meanings were being revealed and this was the work of Almighty God, “The God of all religions,” though they don’t realize that. Today there are many of my Hindu brethren who read the Hindu scriptures but do not understand. When I was fully convinced after reading this scripture, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and personal Savior on 31st April 1991. I was baptized and from that day the Lord started using me. I started reading the Bible deeply.

I came to know in my life that I have been called to work among the Hindu people. The Lord is using me among the people of the Hindu community. Now through my family effort 16 families in my village, many relatives are saved. In my ministry many people from many languages are being saved. I praise Jesus my living Lord for all His work through me. I have ministered in many parts of India and Nepal and am a minister of Love and Compassion India. LAC India is witnessing even in Bhutan.

I personally would like to make a humble request to all my readers and Truth seekers. Jesus said, “You Search the scripture, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of Me.” (John 5:39). I know Jesus was not only speaking to Jews who wanted to kill him (verse 18) but also to the people of all faiths but they do not realize the Lordship and Kingship of Jesus Christ.
